Writer
Mark is a British-Lebanese award-winning screenwriter, and experienced script editor and producer, having worked across multiple genres. He co-wrote the one-off comedy drama about Muhammad Ali, THE GREATEST. OF ALL TIME, which was broadcast on Sky Arts as part of their Emmy nominated URBAN MYTHS season. Other writing credits include Romesh Ranganathan’s THE RELUCTANT LANDLORD for Sky/CPL and CBBC’S sitcom LAGGING, long running drama THE DUMPING GROUND and RIDDLESWICK for Channel X North and CBBC. Recently he worked as script editor on comedy pilot PERFECT for Happy Tramp North and Dave.
He has had script commissions from Shiny Button, Flying Elephant Productions, and Studio 71, and scripts optioned by Channel X, Happy Tramp, Tidy Productions and Grand Scheme Media. His original sitcom BROKEN BETH was a silver award winner at the 2016 PAGE International Screenwriting Awards in the TV Comedy Pilot category. Most recently Mark co-wrote a drama pilot for Raindog Films, and cowrote a sitcom pilot for Expectation Entertainment and the BBC. He is currently developing an original romcom series with Channel X.
He has also worked extensively as a writer, producer and script editor in comedy entertainment on shows such as SORRY I DIDN’T KNOW (Triforce Productions/ITV) GO 8-BIT (DLT Entertainment for Dave), 8 OUT OF 10 CATS (Zeppotron for C4), THROUGH THE KEYHOLE (TalkBack for ITV1), and NEVERMIND THE BUZZCOCKS (TalkBack for BBC).
Mark holds an MA in Creative Writing from the University of East Anglia, and teaches screenwriting at the London Film School, NYU London, and has delivered workshops for Cambridge University and the Games Workshop Black Library.
