Laura is a writer/director working in film and theatre. She is currently developing The Bone Woman a feature film project with Vita Nova Films and has just completed her short film The Lost Girl with Conundrum Films. In 2013 she directed and produced a poetry film, Letter to a Minnesota Prison, a project commissioned to commemorate the anniversary of Martin Luther King’s ‘I have a dream’ speech.

In 2012 Laura was a finalist in Channel 4’s Coming Up new talent scheme. In 2011 she was funded through the ‘Triangle’ scheme to write and direct a film teaser for her first feature, Unconditional. She developed the script in 2011/12 alongside industry mentor Ivana MacKinnon as part of the ‘Film4ward’ scheme.

Laura created and directed the music video for The Guillemots single ‘I Don’t Feel Amazing Now’. She wrote and directed her short film ‘Between You and Me,’ as part of the UK Film Council’s ‘Digital Shorts Scheme’ in 2010. Her earlier film ‘Blind Eye’ was funded as part of the 2009 Scheme. ‘Blind Eye’ screened in the official selection at the Palm Springs Shortfest, the Newport film Festival and the Athena festival in New York.

Laura’s stage plays have been performed at Theatre Royal, Live Theatre, Northern Stage and the Alnwick Playhouse. Her Play ‘He’s Coming’, toured as part of the New Writing North/Northumberland Theatre Company’s ‘4Play’ Scheme.
